Himat Shah is the owner of Shah industries in Tanzania. The Shah's have been in East Africa since 1914. The Shah's employ workers who make crafts like; handbags, wallets, briefcases, belts, hats, and chairs for the regions thriving tourism industry. Unlike most companies in Africa, they hire the handicapped and the disabled.
Mr. Shah is also engaged in philanthropy, the government of Tanzania and other organizations have recognized him with many distinctions. In 1995, Himat received the Order of the Arusha Declaration, First Class, the country's hightest honor.
