Sam Jonah is investing in African infrastructure

Africa's infrastructure will see more investments if Sam Jonah has anything to say about it. Earlier this month I wrote about Africa's infrastructure investment opportunities. Well...Sam Jonah says he is putting his money where his mouth is. Sam plans on building a $250 million dollar fund to build long-distance roads across Africa.

Economist has an article on Sam Jonah's $250 million infrastructure fund.

  1. This is an excellent reference to an important article at The Economist that I would have missed without your help. Nubian Cheetah has been added to my blogroll to compliment the great work started by Emeka Okafor with Timbuktu Chronicles and Africa Unchained. That you focus your writing on business and investment and entrepreneurship in Africa is a very welcome addition to the Africa sector of the Sphere. Great job so far and good luck with the upcoming Carnival of African Enterprise.

Don't forget to point your readers to The Brookings Institution Blum Roundtable 2007 conference website. The conference theme this year was "Development's Changing Face: New Players, Old Challenges, Fresh Opportunities" There is a wealth of in-depth information over there with downloadable PDF-file conference papers. The people in attendance were an all-star lineup of leading international figures in the development, research, business, government, and philanthropy sectors. Many if not all were without a doubt aware of the success of the TED Global 2007 Conference in Arusha, Tanzania this past June.
