SOVEC is an investment fund set up by Dutch entrepreneurs, to invest in small and medium sized companies (SMEs) in Africa.
SOVEC therefore supports local entrepreneurs by investing capital and committing its own network of entrepreneurs who are prepared to invest their time, energy, expertise and business contacts. This helps entrepreneurs in Africa to build their businesses and create job opportunities.

Looks rather limited at this stage - only operating in Ghana.
ReplyDeleteIt is a noble idea, but I believe that this one should be led by the Africans themselves. That way, we will improve the things we know need improving, instead of improving what others (donors) think we should.
Still a commendable idea, I think, but I always like to think grand.
I am still pubting my Pan African R&D Institute, funded by African countries, drawing on the expertise here and all over the world.
It can be done.
I believe what they are doing is wonderful.
