Celsys Limited, which listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange in 2003, incorporates four divisions: Celsys comms, Celsys print , Celsys IT and Celsys marketing. The company was formed in 2002 to facilitate the further expansion of the communications technology group which initially started as Cellular Systems in 1996. The group incorporates security printing, airtime recharge cards, computer security, automated teller machines, community pay phones, cell phone sales, online marketing and related communication technologies.

‘Think Tanking’ in Zimbabwe

CARE International Rejects Food Aid

The recent rejection of food Aid by CARE International as quoted in the New York Times brings to the fore the negative effect of aid to Africa. CARE turned down some $45 million worth of donations in what it pointed out to be a threat to crop production to local farmers.

Kenya: President Rejects Media Bill

The media won a major victory yesterday when President Kibaki rejected a clause in the Media Bill that would have forced editors to reveal their confidential sources.

President Kibaki described the clause as "offensive and a threat to democracy" as he returned the Bill to Parliament to delete the clause.

Zimbabwe: Rand Set to Prop Up Zim Dollar

The crisis in Zimbabwe is very depressing and shameful. Zimbabwe used to be the bread basket of South Africa. I just read this article on how the Southern African Development Community (SADC) will use the RAND to curb the high inflation rate in Zimbabwe.

However, President Robert Mugabe would first have to agree to fundamental political reforms in talks with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) which are due to start near Pretoria tomorrow.
